I’d like to pretend my sewing room is neat and tidy but it rarely is!
At The Local Sewist we specialise in garment sewing only. We use domestic sewing machines that can sew some heavier weight fabrics such as some canvas and some leathers but primarily the machines are designed for regular garment weight fabrics.

Appointments are available 11:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday and Saturdays if necessary.
Our business is run from home so our address will be available once you book your appointment.
Pants Hems
Most pants hems are a flat rate of $30. Price may increase if the pants are fully lined and/or require hand stitching.
Pants zip replacement
Trouser or jeans zips, including replacement zip, are $45.
Other sewing
For all other alterations and custom dressmaking, please email Georgiana for an extended price list or estimate. Hourly rate is $40.
